Homework — Lesson 07
Two tasks · ~30 minutes · Your own travel
Task 1 — Write your personal travel security SOP
Produce a one-page standard operating procedure for your own travel: what you carry (and deliberately don't), your device checks, your custody and connectivity rules, and your return steps.
✓ Self-check: your SOP fits on one page, names a data-minimisation decision, and includes a concrete return-quarantine step.
Task 2 — Run the minimisation list
For your next trip, list what is on your primary device that you would not want a hostile party to have, and decide how to remove or offload each item before you go.
✓ Self-check: every item on the list has a decision — remove, offload, or knowingly accept with a reason.
Task 3 (optional) — Rehearse the unlock request
Write, in one line, what you will do and say if asked to unlock your device at a border or checkpoint. Deciding in advance beats deciding under pressure.
✓ Self-check: your plan is lawful, pre-decided, and does not rely on improvising in the moment.
