Homework — Lesson 09
Two tasks · ~30 minutes · Your own relationships and habits
Task 1 — Write your verify-before-you-act rule
Draft the one-sentence rule you will apply to any urgent request to move money or share sensitive data, including the independent channel you will use and the requirement for a pre-agreed code word.
✓ Self-check: your rule never verifies on the arrival channel and has a safe default when you cannot confirm.
Task 2 — Build one PACE plan and a challenge
Pick one critical relationship (you↔CFO, you↔chief of staff, you↔family). Write a Primary/Alternate/Contingency/Emergency plan and agree a pre-arranged challenge phrase with that person.
✓ Self-check: at least one channel is independent enough to verify the others, and a code word exists that the other person actually knows.
Task 3 (optional) — License the pause
Write two sentences you will say to your team giving them explicit permission to slow down and verify an urgent request that appears to come from you.
✓ Self-check: your wording rewards verifying and removes the fear of annoying you.
