Homework — Lesson 13
Two tasks · ~30 minutes · Personal decision discipline
Task 1 — Write your decision checklist
Create your personal checklist for a high-uncertainty cyber event: what you must know before acting, the bias you are most prone to, and your default reversible first move.
✓ Self-check: your checklist names a concrete first action that is safe whether the event is real or a false alarm.
Task 2 — Pre-decide one threshold
Choose one irreversible action (public statement, paying, major disclosure) and write, in advance, the condition that would justify it. Deciding the threshold when calm beats deciding in the storm.
✓ Self-check: your threshold is specific enough that you could tell, in the moment, whether it has been met.
Task 3 (optional) — Name your bias
Reflect on a past decision and identify which bias most affected it. Write one ritual (devil's advocate, pre-mortem) you will use next time to counter it.
✓ Self-check: you can name the bias and the specific counter-ritual you will apply.
