Lesson 05 Executive OPSEC & Counter-Collection

Homework — Lesson 05

Two tasks · ~40 minutes · Run on your own life and work

Task 1 — Run the five-step process on one recurring activity

Choose one recurring activity of your own (a standing meeting, your commute, a regular trip). Work all five steps: name the critical information, the likely threat, the indicators that leak today, the risk ranking, and one countermeasure per top indicator.

✓ Self-check: you have a written one-page analysis ending in at least two concrete, owned countermeasures with a "who changes what" note.

Task 2 — Shrink your circle's signature

Identify one person in your circle (an aide, a family member, a supplier) whose public activity currently reveals your pattern-of-life. Draft the two sentences you will say to them to reduce that leak without sounding paranoid.

✓ Self-check: your wording is specific (names the behaviour to change) and framed as protection, not blame — something you would actually say.

Task 3 (optional) — Your digital exhaust

Review the location and metadata settings on the apps you use most. Turn off one setting that publishes your movements by default.

✓ Self-check: you can name one setting you changed and what it was leaking.
